#AmbassadorsWednesday - Câthy Jansen

Let's continue our new campaign, today entering the third week of #AmbassadorsWednesday. This week our star is Câthy Jansen, a 29 y/o from Rotterdam and co-founder of Stichting Ééndiabetes: a foundation supporting young T1D's in The Netherlands. Welcome Câthy!

(FÖR TEXT PÅ SVENSKA, VÄNLIGEN SE NEDAN)

What's your name, how old are you, and when were you diagnosed with T1D?
My name is Câthy, I'm 29 years old and was diagnosed in February 1991.

What is the worst thing about being a diabetic? And what's the best?
The worst thing is that it sometimes takes up a lot of energy I really want to use for other stuff. And it sometimes frustrates me when my glycemic control is not so controlled.
On the other hand, I've met so many great people with type 1 diabetes! I volunteered at diabetes camps and after I week you would feel like one, big, happy family. It's strange how that works, that instant connection. And I'm still meeting new, inspiring people, also internationally. Second, not many people can say they started a foundation with two friends that today is really successful. I can! And I'm really proud of that! We're ambitious, and really trying to make a difference and people notice that. A real special and fulfilling hobby!

Are you using insulin pens or an insulin pump?
I'm a pumper since 2004.

Câthy wears her insulin pump in the AnnaPS briefs at night.

How did you find out about AnnaPS?
Jasper, one of the other board members of Stichting Ééndiabetes, met Sofia during the FreeStyle Libre test period. They both tested the device and Abbott put them in contact. When Sofia started working for AnnaPS, she offered us to test some clothes. Since we like new products and these kind of initiatives, we became PS-Ambassadors.. and here we are!

What's your general opinion about the AnnaPS products? Have you got a favourite? Why?
It's a material with good quality, soft and very comfortable. I also like the fact that the material is sustainable. During the day I wear my pump with a clip in my bra, a good spot for me. But I wear the AnnaPS briefs at night and the tank top during my weekly yoga sessions. Since not many yoga poses are on the side, it's a really good spot to wear my pump in!

Câthy uses the AnnaPS tank top during yoga sessions...
...can you spot the pump?
If you were to sum up type 1 diabetes in three words, what would they be?
That is really hard to do! Maybe: "Always thinking ahead"

Câthy and the rest of the Stichting Ééndiabetes crew are truly inspiring with their never-ending-commitment to making a life with diabetes easier for young people in The Netherlands. You can find their blog right here: http://www.eendiabetes.nl  - go check it out!

________________________________________________

Insulinpump sedan 2004.

Ni hittar deras blogg härhttp://www.eendiabetes.nl  - kolla in den!
